NEW CrossTec SchoolVue v9.0 adds many of the features you have requested. Besides full support for Microsoft Vista, SchoolVue v9.0 includes printer management to help you save money, keyboard logging to better keep students on-task, enhanced wireless support, USB drive blocking and much, much, more.

Control Printer Costs:

CrossTec SchoolVue now features a powerful print management tool allowing total control over printer usage within the classroom. Students can be prevented from printing anything, be assigned page limits per lesson, or require teacher authorization.

The Print Management feature supports multiple printers within a classroom, prevents the addition, deletion or modification of existing printers and provides printing usage summaries for the class.

Prevent USB Drive Issues:

CrossTec SchoolVue v9 offers flexible control of USB and CD drive use which will protect you from unintended files, such as malware, being introduced to your PCs. Device Control also protects data from being copied to removable drives.

SchoolVue v9 not only provides an on/off switch for drives but also provides you with additional settings. For example you can set it up so data can still be viewed on a USB Memory Stick or CD-ROM, but can be set to prevent downloading files from them.

CrossTec SchoolVue also provides new audio device control, allowing the teacher to disable the audio on all student systems with a single click. Perfect in a class of 30 noisy computers.

Superior Wireless Support:

Wireless support in CrossTec SchoolVue has been extended to offer improved performance over wireless access points and the inclusion of class lists. To complement this, a new class list creation tool is now provided to allow for off-line preparation of class lists.

The latest version of CrossTec SchoolVue also features a Student Locator. Wireless student laptops can be located across a WAN, current network details can be identified, thus ensuring easy connection from a teacher’s class list. CrossTec SchoolVue is now provided with full support for Windows Vista in addition to its existing platform support.

New to CrossTec SchoolVue is Keyboard Monitoring. Designed to be used in conjunction with application control, this feature provides teachers with real-time insight into student activity and topic understanding. During a lesson the teacher can monitor the entire class and quickly and easily observe their typed content and activity levels.

The keyboard monitor also provides a perfect monitoring tool when students are online in forums or search forms.

Monitor Student IM Use:

CrossTec SchoolVue extends its application control features in version 9 by providing you with instant messaging (IM) monitoring. In addition to the ability to prevent messenger applications from running within the classroom, CrossTec SchoolVue v9 now provides real-time monitoring of specific messenger applications, presenting the teacher with a real time view of chat activity and content.

The Messenger Monitoring component supports a range of messenger applications including MSN, AOL and Yahoo Messengers.

CrossTec SchoolVue v9 - Enhancements

Provide Students with More Class Info: 

CrossTec SchoolVue now features a new Student Information Bar, neatly located at the top of each student screen. This can be set to be always visible or to auto-hide.

The information bar provides feedback to the student on the current lesson, time remaining, current websites and applications that are available, the status of messenger and keyboard monitoring, and quick access to request help.

All of the features included on the information bar can be customized by the teacher.

Improved White Listing & URL Blocking:

The Internet monitoring and control features of CrossTec SchoolVue have been further enhanced. Internet control is provided across a wide range of browsers and the inclusion of partial URL filtering. Teachers can now provide access for students to selected pages on a website, but restrict access to other pages at the same site. Version 9 also includes the ability to block FTP access as standard.

New Student Assessment Features:

The Students Testing module has been further enhanced, with a new Question and Test Designer component, easy addition of testing resources via desktop "drag and drop" and a streamlined test player with improved student feedback.

CrossTec SchoolVue now also features an online resources exchange, where teachers can upload, download and share resources for the classroom.

Make Search Engines Safe for Students:

In addition, the latest version of CrossTec SchoolVue features a new "SafeSearch" feature. This overrides the search settings for most leading search engines and prevents inappropriate content being returned within search results.

Lockdown USB Drives & Removable Media - USB Control built into SchoolVue v9 is designed for endpoint security. The lockdown of USB Devices and other removable storage protects your network against malicious software entering our network and sensitive data going out.

	Windows Vista Support - CrossTec SchoolVue v9 is among the 1st lab management applications to support Microsoft Vista.
	Create Custom Messages - CrossTec SchoolVue v9 now features the ability to create and store custom messages that can be saved to the tutor and displayed with a range of configurable alerts.
	Show Mode Content Protection  - When the tutor is showing their computer to the class, they can elect to enable Internet restrictions on their own PC and therefore avoid visiting any unwanted websites by accident.
	Feature Defaults - Set the default mode for key features such as Printer Control, Internet and Application Control at startup.
	Screen Annotation / Pointer - The Screen Annotation tools can now be used outside of the SchoolVue Tutor program, where their functionality could benefit a presentation with a projector.
