CheckMARK's founding philosophy was that of sourcing and representing products which addressed the difficult issue of network control over applications. Today CheckMARK is a leading software distributor supplying hundreds of resellers across the country. In 1992, when we first began our business, piracy was a huge issue, and the burgeoning LAN market meant that administrators were charged with the onerous responsibility of maintaining control over their entire organisation’s corporate applications’ use, with few adequate tools.

Our relationships with audit and control providers in both the DOS/Windows and Macintosh market meant that we were able to introduce the concept of desktop management and control to a broad spectrum of clients in diverse markets. These market sectors ranged from tertiary and secondary education institutions to large industrial sites and the nation's defence forces.

In implementing anti-piracy measures however, it became increasingly clear that an ancillary benefit was being achieved, that of better asset management and control. Implementing these products helped business’ achieve theirs goals more efficiently.

In consultation with our customer base, we decided to broadened our product range accordingly, following the path of bringing to the Australian market both software and hardware organisational solutions. In doing so, the prime result is that we now enjoy an unparalleled cross-section of loyal customers - people whose purchasing power and need for leading edge technologies is significant; whose understanding of business is sufficient for them to realise the value of investing in technology which will enhance their abilities; and lastly but not least, whose faith in our ability to choose, implement and service these technologies, is the rewarding result of past successes. Our pro-active approach to sourcing the best technologies in any given category and matching those technologies with the needs of our customers has made CheckMARK far more than just a group of passive order takers. We believe in working hand-in-hand with our vendors to ensure that the products we represent are well-recognised and receive high levels of visibility.

We have also fostered a number of new technologies, most notably Software License Monitor, which, having achieved significant market share in Australia and New Zealand, is now owned by Tally Systems around the world under the name CentaMeter. We are proud to represent the products of some of the most innovative software publishers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Denmark and Australia.

The standard of our technical support has consistently received high praise from both clients and the industry press alike.

Due to our launch of Net Nanny Internet filtering software we have achieved considerable business success. This groundbreaking product took CheckMARK into the Internet marketplace, and has enabled us to not only target the retail consumer channel, but also OEM’s. Our most recent success have been PartitionMagic which allows hard disk partitioning and multiple operating systems to boot.
